Kayaking
We
paddle Ocean Kayaks which we believe are the best vessel for accessing
the most magnificent snorkeling spots on the reef. A typical day
would include paddling along pristine white beaches and rocky reefs.
Ocean kayaks enable us to paddle to the most special places on the
reef, drop anchor in sand, slide off the edge of your kayak and
into the amazing underwater world. Paddling time per day is 3- 4
hours depending on conditions. The protected coral lagoon is anywhere
from 300 metres to 3 kilometers offshore ranging in depth from 2
- 5 metres. This provides ideal conditions for sheltered paddle
exploration. No experience is required for either paddling or snorkeling.
Snorkeling
Whether you have never explored the underwater
world before, or have explored it in many locations around the world,
Ningaloo reef must be seen. Turquoise Bay, The Oyster Stacks, and
Pilgramunna are just a few sites to mention. There are beautiful
areas of reef that have no names, which we will also be visiting.
Paddling an ocean kayak allows us the flexibility to access places
that are rarely seen. You will see underwater gardens where giant
coral grow and an eco-system which flourishes in this amazing environment.
Exploring
Other than exploring the coastline
by kayak and underwater world with a mask and snorkel we also get
time to relax on the beach. There is plenty of time in our day for
a beach walk, time to read a book, bird watching or discover some
aboriginal middens that lie behind the dune system. This adventure
also takes in a walk up Mandu Mandu Gorge which was carved out by
an ancient river system millions of years ago. At night time there
is the option of exploring the stars above or going on a spotlight
night walk.
Camping
Cape Range National Park has a number of campsites
near the waters edge as well as inland near the rocky range. Camping
is in tents and food is cooked specially on stoves. Western Blue
Sea Kayak place a high emphasis on great food. There will be gourmet
delights each evening prior to dinner. Feel free to bring along
your favourite bottle of wine for this nice time of evening. The
campsites are equipped with bush toilets and tents are on a twin
share basis.
Wildlife
Cape Range National Park is a habitat
for kangaroos, emus, lizards andplentiful birdlife. You may view
these animals from a kayak, at the campsiteor on a leisurely late
afternoon walk up one of the scenic gorges in CapeRange. Bring your
camera!
The Whale Shark Experience
The bigggest fish in the ocean is a seasonal visitor to Ningaloo
Reef betweenthe months of April - July. An optional extra is to
add another day onto yourtour and have the opportunity to swim with
this gentle and amazing animal asan end to your Ningaloo experience.

The North-West Cape's weather conditions
